Young Indian Entrepreneurs Conclave

GNIM in collaboration with BRASI,
Toronto, and YIE organized a conclave for Young
Indian entrepreneurs on 21st August, 2010. The conclave aiming to bring young and
successful entrepreneurs nationally and internationally together on a platform
was successful in its motive. Many prominent personalities who attended the
conclave are, Mr. Pugazhenthy, former national president of
Indian Institute of Metals and currently Director, India Lead Zinc Development
Association, Mr. Prabakaran, founder Corp-Corp, a tech site in
US, Mr. Mohit Malik, Principal Annova Consulting.

Summer Internship of PGDM Students in TORONTO, Canada |

GNIM nurtures a vision to be truly global business school. GNIM
realized the emerging role of international markets and the need for B-Schools
to groom managers with international perspective.
GNIM has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with
Business Research And Services Institute (BRASI) to conduct a resident
summer internship program at TORONTO, CANADA that is specifically designed for
the students pursuing Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM).

BRASI offers specialized training centers in Canada that are
managed by highlyqualified and experienced professionals. BRASI's Canadian
office is located in the picturesque city of Toronto. The program combines the
benefits of training, certification, sightseeing and international experience,
including visit to state-of-the-art manufacturing sites representing automotive,
food and pharmaceuticals, among others. Students will gain exposure to the
application and practice of advanced business processes and improvement tools
such as Lean manufacturing, Total Quality Management, Just-in-Time, Six Sigma
and Theory of Constraints.
The Proposal also includes Faculty Development Program for
GNIM faculty at TORONTO and visits of BRASI's Expert Faculty to GNIM. |

Business English Certificate (BEC) Conducted by Cambridge ESOL to be
Introduced in the Course Curriculum of GNIM |

GNIM has introduced BEC Examination in the course curriculum of
PGDM from the session 2010-2012. The Business English Certificate (BEC)
is internationally recognized qualification of language ability by
Cambridge University. BEC is officially recognized by more than a thousand
educational organizations, employers, ministries, government bodies and
professional organizations throughout the world as a suitable qualification for
business use.
Leading international companies such as Sony Ericsson, Shell,
Vodafone, Bayer, Coca-Cola and HSBC have all recognized BEC in their
offices around the world. The BEC exams are aligned with Levels B1 to C1 of the
Common European Framework of Reference for Languages - an internationally
recognized benchmark of language ability. |

There are three levels of the test- |
|
|
BEC Preliminary, BEC Vantage and BEC Higher. Overall grade is
awarded, based on the aggregate of marks gained in the four components (Reading,
Writing, Listening and Speaking).
The mission is to create a class of global Business graduates who
are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and cultural sensitivity to make them
shine in the corporate world.
Their enhanced creativity and innovative abilities through the
program will definitely give them a higher edge. |

GNIM Signs Memorandum of Understanding with NSE for NCCMP Course |

GNIM has signed Memorandum of Understanding with NSE for NSE
Certified Capital Market Professional (NCCMP) course. NSE Certified Capital
Market Professional (NCCMP) is a course launched as a jointly conducted
programme by National Stock Exchange of India Limited and Guru Nanak Institute
of Management to upgrade the skills, to impart knowledge and awareness about the
Securities and the Exchange market thereby increasing the proficiency of the
students of the course.
The course content will include Introduction to Financial
Markets, Derivatives, Technical Analysis, Macro Economics, Fundamental Analysis,
Currency Futures, Discussions of Financial Newspapers and Journals and Practical
Training.
There will be 80 hours of theoretical session conducted by Guru
Nanak Institute of Management including few sessions conducted by NSE. Every
student will undergo 20 hours practical training on trading and back office
operations under a Stock broking firm. Upon successful completion, the candidate
will be issued a joint certificate by GNIM and NSE. |
