Summer Training
|
|
After completion the end of the first year of their PGDM & PGDM Retail
Management programme, all students are required to take up a two-months
internship assignment with organization. This is a compulsory component of the
curriculum for the completion of the programme, and is designed to provide
exposure to the working of organizations, as well as a chance to apply the
learning at GNIM in solving real-world business problems. The benefits to both
sides are obvious, organisations get strong analytical capabilities for a
two-months period, without increasing their permanent head-count. And of course,
they get a chance to observe GNIM students first-hand. On the other hand, our
students get the benefit of solving real-life problems in the corporate world.
Several organization have made Pre Placement Offers (PPOs) to our students
through this route. |

Industrial Visits |
|
|
|
It is rightly said that travel is a form of education, as
it broadens one’s thinking and makes it open to learning. The PGDM first year
students as a part of their industry exposure visited Mother Dairy,
Maruti Udyog, Parle Products, and NSIC. At Mother Dairy, they saw the
process and technology that is put in to provide milk packets at our doorstep
everyday. At Maruti Udyog, they got the opportunity to learn the various aspects
of total quality management and risk management. At NSIC, they saw various
machines to start a small enterprise.

Educational visits to work place are a source of immense knowledge
for future managers. This is a great opportunity for the students to augment
their theoretical concepts with the practical know how. Taking the students for
industrial visits is an integral part of the curriculum. Some of Our
Distinguished Alumni provides an ideal opportunity to the students to understand
the real functioning of the industry and get exposed to different work cultures.
This industry orientation programme is reinforced through it. This provides the
students with insights into real life organizational dynamics and familiarizes
them with issues of current concern to the industry. |
